define astral projection

At some point in time in your life, you have probably heard the term Out of Body. You may have heard it in a movie, it may have come up in a book you read or even in a conversation, you may have engaged in when speaking to a friend.

Even though you may have some vague concept of it, you probably didn’t know that it’s something that you and everyone else in the world can do and have done before, even if you didn’t know it.

Let’s start by understanding what Out Of Body actually is. Basically, Out Of Body is a person’s ability to leave their body. Everyone has this ability, and we all do this at night when we are asleep. During sleep, the physical mind rests but the subconscious mind remains active and takes over.

This is when a person astral projects, though most people have no memory of doing this.

Through Out Of Body, a person is able to go wherever they want. If you try to remember your childhood, you will likely remember being able to do this at night when you went to bed. As you got older, you began to forget. It is possible to travel anywhere, since you are not bound by time or distance in Out Of Body. When you are asleep, only the physical body sleeps. It is your astral body that is able to travel.

But what is your astral body? This is a duplicate of your physical body made of your subconscious will and desires. It is invisible to the eye and is tied to your body by a silver cord; so your astral body will always return after its travels.

The silver cord is a term used to describe the attachment of the astral body to that of the physical body. This cord cannot be cut and it cannot be detached except in the moment of death when the spirit finally leaves the physical body as a permanent disconnection. It is the silver cord, which allows the astral body to maintain contact and return to the physical body.

Where is it that your astral body goes in its travels? Your astral body goes to the astral plane, a non-physical duplicate of the physical universe. The astral plane is thought to operate at a different frequency than our own, some saying that it is an alternate universe. Most agree that the astral plane is not a single monolithic place, however.

Naturally, the question of danger astral projecting comes to mind. The answer is both yes and no. We all have the ability to astral project. We know that the astral body can leave the physical body it will return.

However, we must be sensible as with all things. out of body requires a good solid thinking skills and understanding what it is you want and where you would like to go.

Out of Body while you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol can be somewhat risky. When you’re not in total control of yourself, your astral body is limited to the lowest and most hazardous levels of the astral plane. If you’re not careful, there is a danger of psychological harm.

The key to out of body involves knowing what it is you are doing and where you want to go while doing it. You must have complete control of what your astral body may be doing, since your thoughts control your projection experiences.

There are a number of different methods of preparation depending on whom or what you consult. Professionals all have different ways of preparing, that can provide you with the necessary information to be able to prepare and enjoy the benefit of learning how to control the experience and benefit from Out of Body. Many people however prefer to practise Out of Body in their own home.

There are several books on this subject and you can locate other aids to help you online. One type of aid is that of hypnosis recordings that are created for out of bodys to get you into the desired state of mind. This helps you get totally relaxed along with taking you through that various levels. This is often the preferred method over a professional approach, because you can replay the recording as much as you need to get your subconscious mind to get the message about when it is alright to begin to astral project and leave your physical body.

A new audio recording technology called binaural beats has been shown to help people astral project as well. The listener hears two slightly different frequencies, one in each ear and the effect of these sounds is deep relaxation as the listener’s brainwaves tune into just the right frequency for Out Of Body.

Astral projecting takes some practice, so be patient with yourself. Much like walking, it’s something we can do naturally but you do need to practice and refine this ability before you can use it at will. You may fail the first time, the second or even more, but you will soon be able to astral project.

If you’re not convinced that you can astral project, think back to one of those dreams you’ve had where you’re flying, then falling. This was an Out of Body, not a dream. The flying you experienced was your astral body traveling and the falling sensation was your astral body returning to your physical body.

Out of Body is something which any one of us can do and it will become easier with practice.
