The Mystery Of How To Astral Project
Astral projection is in fact a natural ability which everyone possesses, with many people actually doing it without being aware of it. However, the aim should be to do it while you’re conscious thereby being able to control what your astral body is doing.
While this article is an attempt to help people learn about astral projection using different techniques, you should keep in mind that astral projection is a personal experience so ideally, you need to apply a technique that works best for yourself. Furthermore, we’re taking the liberty of assuming that you are already familiar with the meaning of astral projection.
Firstly, we’ll look at a simple 5 point method which is a technique people can use when they go to bed.
*While lying there, completely relax your body so that you enter a deep state of relaxation. Lie on your back and start tensing then relaxing every muscle in your toes and feet. Work your way upward through your body from your toes to your head. You might feel discomfort or heaviness the first times you try this; but this is normal because you just aren't used to feeling so relaxed.
*Perhaps the most difficult part of step two is actually not falling asleep as you becomes more and more relaxed. In order to deepen and slow down your breathing, we follow a technique which is also used for meditation. This involves taking a slow deep breath and at the same time, feeling the air actually move its way down into your lungs. As you then exhale, you once again pay attention to the feeling of moving air leaving your body, ensuring also that you exhale all the air you have. To avoid falling asleep, try focusing mentally on an imaginary dot on the centre of your forehead.
*After several of these breathes, begin thinking of how your body feels, which should be like a heavy slab of clay and difficult to move. Once you sense that you feel this way, shift your attention into your astral body, which is weightless and free, nothing like your physical body. Close your eyes and envision your astral Self, a feather in the wind, or a luminous bird.
*A large percentage of people attempting to astral project claim that in this stage, they see the whole room they’re lying in, in spite of the fact that their eyes are closed. Additionally, in most cases it seems, people claim that there appears to be purple light, or at least, a purple glow filling the room. If you’ve reached this point then the next thing you need to focus on the light fitting in the centre of the ceiling.
*Concentrating on the ceiling light you should mentally start trying to pull it towards you and before long, in all likelihood, you’ll more than likely start feeling as if you’re floating. Whatever you do, do not allow yourself to fall asleep at this point because by now you should be fully aware that you’re floating and in many cases, you may also be able to see your physical body lying on the bed below.
Once you reach this stage, you have consciously astral projected for the first time. Now you're ready to astral travel. Here's another method if the above doesn't seem to work for you.
This second tactic is known as the gazing technique and as with the technique discussed above it should also be done when you go to your bed. As the name implies, all you need with this method is an object to gaze at, be it a picture hanging up, the moon if it’s visible through the window or even some form of pendant such as a crystal.
Simply begin focusing all your attention on the object you’ve chosen for the occasion while you are lying down on your bed. Inevitably your eyes will soon start to feel increasingly heavy and irrespective of how hard you try, your eyes will eventually close. This is a perfectly normal part of the process so don’t feel disheartened but instead, you must make sure that you continue staring at the object through your closed eyes. Providing you do this, you will soon start to sense an irresistible urge to sit up or to stand up. Don’t fight this urge as the feeling is coming from your astral body rather than your physical body. You’ll soon realize this though as because when you turn around, you’ll be able to see your physical body lying on the bed.
If neither of these two methods work the first time you try then try again a second time and even a third time. If you still fail to astral project, you need to try one of the other techniques. You can do it so whatever you do, don’t give up. Repeatedly telling yourself that you’re failing will result in anxiety which will only hinders your efforts.
The truth is that your biggest obstacle to success with astral projection is your very own subconscious, which at first will likely try to guard you against the 'danger' of your astral body splitting off from your physical body. You can overcome this block with daily affirmations. Just keep them positive and present tense, and acknowledge that you possess the natural ability of astral projection.
The ability to astral project successfully on the first attempt is not possible for everyone as their subconscious minds have to be suitably conditioned. Luckily some very powerful tools exist and are readily available to help you in a very short space of time.
Hypnosis is perhaps the most powerful tool available as it gets you into an ideal state relaxation. Additionally, a really good session will also enable you to grasp and accept the principles of astral projection when you experience it.
Recent advancements in sound technology have brought to light, a concept known as 'binaural beats'which are also proving to be very useful in helping people achieve a state of deep relaxation which is essential for successful astral projection.
Remember, astral projection is not mystical or just something for a select few. It's one of your innate abilities--all you need to do is use the right techniques to master it!
