How To Astral Project Explained

It’s amazing just how many people astral project without even having the slightest idea that they’re doing it and this is simply because astral projection is a natural phenomenon. What needs to be learnt is the ability to astral project while you’re conscious.

Let's assume that you are already familiar with the astral plane and you know what astral projection is. The purpose of what follows is to tell you about a few different ways of engaging in astral projection. If you know which methods work best for you, you can know the powerful experience that is astral projection.

The first technique is one that you can do when you've gone to bed for the night. Let's break it down into five steps.

*Your first goal is to initiate a state of adequate relaxation by relaxing your entire body. In order to reach this state of relaxation you need to be lying down and then, starting at the lowest point which is your toes, tense each muscle and then relax it again. Once you’ve finished doing this with your toes, you do it with you feet, then your lower legs, then your thighs and so you continue upwards until you eventually finish with the muscles in your face. If at this point you feel your body is becoming heavy, do be alarmed at all as this is exactly what should be happening.

*For many beginners trying to astral project, the most challenging aspect of this stage is staying awake as you find yourself becoming totally relaxed. We now have to deepen and slow down your breathing and to do this we use a technique most often used in meditation. This method requires that you take slow but deep breaths while paying close attention to the feeling of air actually making its way into your lungs. As you begin breathing out, you again focus your attention to the feeling of air leaving your body. It’s important to ensure that you exhale all the air you have. In order to avoid sleeping, attempt to focus on an imaginary spot situated in the centre of your forehead.

*This is the stage where you’ll need to be aware of two things in particular, the first being the way your physical body feels and the second being your astral body. Your physical body should feel heavy, comparative to a mass of wet sand which is heavy and difficult to move. Now focus on your astral body, imagining it’s similar to feathers or soapy bubbles drifting on a delicate breeze. Concentrate on the sheer weightlessness of your astral body and its ability to float away. Unlike your physical body which is heavy, your astral body is completely weightless.

*It’s now in this fourth stage that many people tend to see the room they’re in filled with a soft purple light. Likewise, they tens to see the entire room even though their physical body is lying on the bed with eyes closed. It’s hardly surprising then that so many people report that this is where the thrill of astral projection starts.

*As a beginner, it’s this fifth phase that’s been your number one goal. You need to continue now because after all, you have made it this far. Whatever you do, don’t allow yourself to drift off to sleep. Now, focus all your attention on the ceiling light fitting and mentally try to pull it towards yourself the bed. As you do this, you’ll start to experience a feeling as though you are floating. Remain conscious and continue pulling the light closer until you actually feel yourself starting to float. Now, it is time for you to experience the rewards of your efforts so turn around and look down. You’ll be able to see your physical body lying peacefully on the bed below.

Once you reach this stage, you have consciously astral projected for the first time. Now you're ready to astral travel. Here's another method if the above doesn't seem to work for you.

This second method is commonly known as the gazing technique, which just as with the first method, is also best done when going to bed. The main difference is, with the gazing method, all you require is an object on which you can focus such as a picture hanging on the wall, the moon outside if it’s within view, or in fact anything you choose.

Once you’re lying on your bed, concentrate on the object you’ve chosen. Continue focusing until your eyes become heavier and heavier, until if feels as though you cannot keep them open. No matter how hard you try, they are going to close and when they do, be sure to keep staring at the object, even through your closed eyes. After doing this for some time, you’ll experience the desire to get up off the bed or at least, to sit up. Be warned, if it’s your first projection, standing up and turning around can be an alarming experience as you see your own body lying on the bed.

If you’re really serious about learning to astral project, you need to understand that these methods aren’t always successful on your first attempt. In all likelihood you may not even be successful with your second or third attempt either but if after that they still don’t work, don’t give up because there are still other techniques so simply try again using a new method.

It should also be said now that one’s subconscious mind is perhaps the single biggest hurdle in your road to successful astral projection, irrespective what techniques or tools you decide to employ. In order for you to be able to successfully astral project, your subconscious mind has to be convinced that it’s perfectly acceptable and natural for your astral body to leave your physical body. A highly effective tool available for doing this is by means of affirmations. Once your subconscious has adjusted and learnt to accept the concept, astral projection is very easy.

For some, conditioning one’s mind to an extent where astral projection becomes easy can take considerable time but the good news is, there are some powerful short cuts which can make it possible even after one attempt.

One of the shortcuts is hypnosis. A good hypnotist can tell you what you are experiencing as you enter into the right state of mind, so you don't have to worry about what you \"should\" be experiencing.

Audio technology has now developed 'binaural beats' which you can use to deeply relax and open up your subconscious mind to new spiritual experiences.

No, astral project is certainly not as difficult as many may proclaim it to be. After all, it’s a natural ability which we’re all born with. The techniques which have been discussed are merely aides to help you achieve your experience.
