How To Astral Project- What The Ancients Knew

Astral projection is not really the mysterious or mystic thing it's usually made out to be--it's a natural human capability. Numerous people have astral projection or astral travel experiences but don't realize it because they aren't in control of where they go or what they do.

While we will try to help people learn how to astral project using various methods, one should remember, astral projection is a personal experience so you really need to choose a method that works best for yourself. Also, this article is based on the assumption that you are already familiar with what astral projection is.

Firstly, we’ll look at a simple 5 point method which is a technique people can use when they go to bed.

*While lying there, completely relax your body so that you enter a deep state of relaxation. Lie on your back and start tensing then relaxing every muscle in your toes and feet. Work your way upward through your body from your toes to your head. You might feel discomfort or heaviness the first times you try this; but this is normal because you just aren't used to feeling so relaxed.

*Now you will slow down and deepen your breathing as they do in meditation practices. Consciously breathe in deeply and slowly and focus your attention upon the way the air feels as it comes into your lungs and descends into your diaphragm. Now exhale slowly and deeply, focusing your complete attention upon the air leaving your lungs, your nostrils, your mouth. But if you feel yourself drifting off to sleep, focus your attention on the middle of your forehead instead as you breathe.

*This is the stage where you’ll need to be aware of two things in particular, the first being the way your physical body feels and the second being your astral body. Your physical body should feel heavy and difficult to move, almost as one would imagine a large boulder to be. As one pays attention their astral body, try focusing on how you would imagine the weightlessness of bubbles to be, gently drifting on the air currents. Focus on the absolute weightlessness of your astral body, feeling it starting to float away. Keep reminding yourself that your physical body is heavy, while your astral body is completely weightless.

*At this stage is when you may be able to \"see in infrared\", able to make out everything in the dark room in exquisite detail. The room may seem bathed in violet light. If you reach this stage, look up and focus your attention on a light upon or covering the ceiling.

*Continue concentrating on the light fitting and then mentally, slowly start to pull it towards yourself on the bed. At this point you should start feeling as if you’re starting to float. At this point it’s tantamount that you do not allow yourself to fall asleep because by now you should be absolutely aware that you’re floating and in all likelihood, it may well be possible to turn around and see your physical body still lying on the bed.

As I mentioned earlier in this article, different techniques work for different people. If this first method has failed you, don’t give up. Simply move on and try the next method mentioned below. Likewise, if this method has worked then you’re on your way to start experimenting astral travelling.

You can do this one, known as the Gazing Method, when you're hitting the hay for night as well. You'll need an object to focus on: the moon through your window or skylight, a lava lamp, even just a nightlight; whatever can hold your attention.

Once you’re lying on your bed, concentrate on the object you’ve chosen. Continue focusing until your eyes become heavier and heavier, until if feels as though you cannot keep them open. No matter how hard you try, they are going to close and when they do, be sure to keep staring at the object, even through your closed eyes. After doing this for some time, you’ll experience the desire to get up off the bed or at least, to sit up. Be warned, if it’s your first projection, standing up and turning around can be an alarming experience as you see your own body lying on the bed.

If these two techniques don’t work the first time you try them, then try again. If after the third time you fail to astral project, perhaps you need to try one of the other techniques. What’s important is that you don’t give up. Becoming despondent increases anxiety and this will only hamper your efforts rather than increase your chances.

Most importantly, it’s essential to understand that one’s subconscious mind is the biggest obstacle in your path to successful astral projection, no matter what tools or techniques you decide to use. Before one can astral project, you need to convince your subconscious mind that it’s acceptable for your astral body to leave your physical body and one effective means of doing this is through affirmations. Once your subconscious has come to terms with the concept, astral projection becomes easy.

There do exist some shortcuts to becoming able to consciously astral project for those who might not have the patience to try over and over until they get it right. These should enable you to astral project on just your first attempt or second.

Hypnosis can be used to make your subconscious mind more welcoming of the fact of astral projection. A rightly trained hypnotist can also descriptively guide your mind through the process of the steps to astral projection so you don't have to be distracted with such worries.

Audio technology has now developed 'binaural beats' which you can use to deeply relax and open up your subconscious mind to new spiritual experiences.

No, astral project is certainly not as difficult as many may proclaim it to be. After all, it’s a natural ability which we’re all born with. The techniques which have been discussed are merely aides to help you achieve your experience.
