A Greater Understanding Of How To Astral Project
Astral projection is in fact a natural ability which everyone possesses, with many people actually doing it without being aware of it. However, the aim should be to do it while you’re conscious thereby being able to control what your astral body is doing.
Let's assume that you are already familiar with the astral plane and you know what astral projection is. The purpose of what follows is to tell you about a few different ways of engaging in astral projection. If you know which methods work best for you, you can know the powerful experience that is astral projection.
First we’ll look at a simple five step process which is a simple technique people can use when they go to bed.
*While lying there, completely relax your body so that you enter a deep state of relaxation. Lie on your back and start tensing then relaxing every muscle in your toes and feet. Work your way upward through your body from your toes to your head. You might feel discomfort or heaviness the first times you try this; but this is normal because you just aren't used to feeling so relaxed.
*Okay, hopefully you will have achieved a state of deep relaxation, so now you need to control your breathing with slow deep breaths by following a method which has proven to be very popular in meditation. Breathe in deep but slowly and allow yourself to actually feel the air moving into you as it makes its way into your lungs. Now breath out slowly, once again paying attention to the air leaving your body. This is the bit many people find hard due to the extreme relaxation which results. Instead, they simply fall asleep which is of course, the last thing you want to be doing. Focusing on the centre of your forehead will in most cases, help you to remain conscious.
*This third step focuses on the weightlessness of one’s astral body together with the weight of the physical body. Now that your physical body feels heavy, try to imagine it as being a large piece of lead, heavy and difficult to move in any way. Likewise, focus on just how light your astral body feels, comparable to a large bubble which wants to float away one the slightest hint of a breeze, or some feathers blowing away in the wind. With eyes closed, see your astral self starting to drift away, feeling the complete weightlessness of space. Yes, while your physical body may be heavy and difficult to move, your astral body has no weight at all, free to drift on the wind.
*If you get to this stage you're likely to start experiencing exquisite 'night vision', where just like a cat you can see clearly in total darkness. Also, the room will seem like it's saturated with light, especially purple light. So, now focus your attention upon the light on the ceiling.
*Concentrating on the ceiling light you should mentally start trying to pull it towards you and before long, in all likelihood, you’ll more than likely start feeling as if you’re floating. Whatever you do, do not allow yourself to fall asleep at this point because by now you should be fully aware that you’re floating and in many cases, you may also be able to see your physical body lying on the bed below.
As I mentioned earlier in this article, different techniques work for different people. If this first method has failed you, don’t give up. Simply move on and try the next method mentioned below. Likewise, if this method has worked then you’re on your way to start experimenting astral travelling.
Known as the gazing technique, this second method is also best done when going to bed. However, with the gazing method, all you require is something on which you can focus such as a picture or even the moon outside if it’s within view.
Of course, you must make sure you can gaze at the object as you lie in bed. Now, essentially you're going to stare at this object. If you feel your attention wandering, bring it back to the object. You should soon begin to feel your eyelids getting heavy. Just keep staring; eventually your eyes will close but you should still be able to see the object as if your eyes are still open. Don't turn your head; keep \"staring\". You'll come to a point where you want to sit up or stand up, and if you feel yourself do this don't be alarmed if you can see your own physical body lying asleep on the bed.
You may need to practice these methods several times over before you start getting results, so the important thing is to never give up. If you let yourself grow frustrated or anxious this will only interfere with your ability astral project.
You see, no matter what methodologies you attempt with astral projection or any new spiritual discipline, it's your own subconscious mind which is the main obstacle. Your subconscious mind must feel like it's perfectly alright for the astral body to temporarily depart from the physical body. To this end you can do some affirmations for several minutes every day to re-program the subconscious mind. Remember that all affirmations must be stated in the positive and they cannot be lies. (I.E. do not talk as if you have already astral projected; talk as if you have made the decision to astral project and you know it's perfectly natural to do so).
The ability to astral project successfully on the first attempt is not possible for everyone as their subconscious minds have to be suitably conditioned. Luckily some very powerful tools exist and are readily available to help you in a very short space of time.
Perhaps the most helpful tool is hypnosis as it gets you into a perfectly relaxed state of mind and a really good session will also allow you to understand the workings of astral projection once you experience it.
A form of sound technology known as 'binaural beats'has recently become a topic of great excitement thanks to its ability of being highly effective at helping one achieve a state of relaxation which is essential for astral projection.
Once again, astral projection is actually not difficult--it's a natural capability born into you. You just need to use the right tools to get it done, and then you can astrally travel the cosmos!
