Meditating and practicing relaxation techniques will also help you astral project. Meditating is actually an ideal way to prepare your mind and body for astral projection. All you have to do is find a meditative practice that you can follow easily and that you will be able to stick with.

Do your meditation in a quiet, comfortable room where you will not be distracted as you meditate. Clear all thoughts from your mind.

Free your mind of worrying thoughts you need to clear your mind of all thoughts in order to be able to astral project.

To reach an altered state of consciousness, focus more and more on you breathing, which should be slow and deep.

Your breaths should grow slower and deeper as you move your focus to relaxing your body.

Focus on each part of the body, starting at the farthest points, your toes. You can do one of two things here. You can either tense and relax each part of your body as you move up the body or you can say as you exhale, ‘My toes are relaxing, I am relaxing.’

You’ll begin to feel a bit heavy and limp as you release all of the tension and negative energy from your body. After your entire body is relaxed, it’s time to move on to the next step in your efforts to astral project.

Once you are fully relaxed, you may be ready to fall asleep don’t doze off, you’re almost there! Repeat a phrase to yourself to stay focused. It doesn’t matter what this mantra is. Even “around the corner” can work just choose a phrase which you can focus on and repeat it.

When the human mind is unoccupied, it will tend to wander; this will ruin the concentration you need to astral project. Just keep repeating your phrase to yourself and taking slow, deep breaths.

Repeating this phrase can help you to attain the altered state of consciousness which you need to astral project. Another way to reach this state is to use the ‘body of light’ technique, which involves visualizing yourself transforming into a body of light.

There are three signs to watch for that will indicate that you are beginning to astral project. One is having a sensation of motion, followed by ‘seeing’ light and color (even though your eyes will be closed).

Voices will tell you to go on and encourage you or tell you to stop now as a warning. When you hear these voices, it means you have succeeded in astral projecting.
