floating out of body experience

Many people believe that everyone is born with the ability of astral projection. Practice makes perfect and that is the only difference between those can and those who can’t.

Just like yoga and meditation, astral projection has a very long history. People have called astral projection by many different names over the centuries and there are also many different techniques which can help you to astral project.

Lucid dreaming is one type of astral projecting. Lucid dreaming is of course when we are conscious of our dreaming this is actually astral projecting. In order to lucid dream, all you need to do is to tell yourself ‘I am dreaming’ while in the dream.

Doing this lets you take the reins in your dreams but it takes a while to master this, making it not the best way for beginners to astral project.

Astral projection is something you have done before, although you may not realize that you have done so.

If you have ever woken up in the middle of the night and recalled a dream as if it was real, this is a form of astral projection.

The ability to astral project starts with believing that you can do this. Everyone can astral project it’s just a matter of freeing your mind of the doubts which are keeping you from astral projecting.

Learning to relax and meditation is another helpful tool when learning to astral project. Your mind and body needs to be prepared to achieve astral projection. Meditation is a great preparation for the experience. Find a meditation you like and practice it.

Sitting in a quiet, distraction free room in a comfortable chair is the best way to begin meditating with the goal of astral projection.

Eliminate all of the worries and negative thoughts and feel yourself relaxing. Focus on your breathing. Take slow, deep breaths; inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

Reaching an alternate state of consciousness is the next step. Continue to work on breathing and now your primary goal is to remove stress and completely clear your mind.

Focus on breathing in through the nose and letting the airflow out through your mouth. You are breathing slower and deeper and getting more relaxed, now focus on relaxing your body.

Starting from your toes and working your way up, relax each part of your body. There are two ways you can do this. One is to tense, then relax each part of your body as you move upwards, the other is to visualize the tension leaving each part of your body as you exhale.

The best way to describe what you are going to feel is ‘heavy’ it is going to feel as though all of the energy and tension is slipping away from each part of your body. You will know it when it happens. Once you have relaxed each part of your body it is time for you to move to the next step that is going to help you astral project.

The next step, sleep. You have prepared your mind and body for s deep sleep, but remember to stay alert and relaxed. Come up with your own phrase such as ‘I fly, I fly’ there is no wrong motto, so find one that you are comfortable with.

When are minds are unoccupied, they tend to wander this can spoil your concentration, making it impossible to astral project. Stay on track by repeating your phrase.

Now, there are a couple of methods that can be employed to reach altered consciousness. You can use your repetitive statement to reach the altered state of consciousness. You can also use the body of light method, which is where you envision a body of light that you are going to see yourself transform into.

There are three feelings you are going to experience that will help you know that your astral body is going. First you are going to feel as though you are moving, then you are going to ‘see’ lights and colors infront of your eyes (remember that your eyes are closed) this is simply the astral body moving into the astral world.

Last, you’ll hear voices. These voices will either be urging you to continue or to stop this is a sure fire sign that you are on your way to astral projecting.
