Every single man and woman on earth has the ability to astral project. It?s not something which only a few can do ? in fact, the only difference between those people who can astral project at will and those who rarely do so is practice! Astral projection is a technique with a long pedigree, just as that possessed by yoga and meditation. Astral projection is known by a lot of different names ? and there are several ways which you can astral project.
One of these methods is lucid dreaming. You are probably already aware of what lucid dreaming is. This is when you are able to be conscious within your dream and take control of the experience. All it takes is being able to say 'I am dreaming' to yourself while in a dream.
Doing this lets you take the reins in your dreams ? but it takes a while to master this, making it not the best way for beginners to astral project.
You have astral projected before, perhaps many times. You may not have been aware that this is what you were doing, but one example is the dreams which you may wake up from remembering each and every detail. These were actually experiences of astral projection.
The ability to astral project starts with believing that you can do this. Everyone can astral project ? it?s just a matter of freeing your mind of the doubts which are keeping you from astral projecting.
Practicing meditation and other relaxation methods can get your mind and body prepared to astral project. Meditation is the best relaxation technique for those looking to astral project. The key is to find a regular meditation regimen that helps you to relax.
One good way to start your meditation (and astral projecting) is to sit in a comfortable chair in a quiet room where you will not be interrupted or distracted. You need to clear all thoughts from your mind and focus on your breathing. Breathe slowly and deeply. Feel your tension and worry leaving your body with each exhalation. Before long, you?ll be nearing the deeply relaxed state necessary to astral project.
Keep focusing on your breathing ? breathe out all of your stress. Focus only on talking deep breaths ? in through the nose, out through the mouth. Your breaths should grow slower and deeper as you move your focus to relaxing your body.
Start with your toes and relax your body bit y bit, working your way up to your head. You can do this by either tensing and then releasing each part of your body as you go along. Alternately, visualize all of the stress and tension leaving from each part of your body as you do your deep breathing.
As the tension and negative energies leave your body, you?ll start to feel heavy and deeply relaxed. Once you have finished relaxing your body, you?re ready to move on to the next step.
Although you?re so relaxed by this point that it would be very easy to go to sleep, you need to stay alert. One good way to do this is to recite a sort of mantra to repeat to yourself. Anything will do ? you can even just say 'walk the dog, walk the dog'.
When are minds are unoccupied, they tend to wander ? this can spoil your concentration, making it impossible to astral project. Stay on track by repeating your phrase.
In order to astral project, you?ll need to reach an altered mental state. This can be done by simply repeating your phrase. You can also use the ?body of light? technique, which many practitioners find to be helpful. In this technique, you need to visualize your body transforming into a body of light.
You can watch for these three signs to know that you are beginning to astral project. One is feeling a sensation of motion, even though your body will be at rest. Another is ?seeing? colors and lights with your eyes closed. The third is beginning to hear voices telling you either to stop your meditation or to continue on and astral project. These signs will let you know for sure that you are astral projecting.
