Every person in the world man, woman and child is born with the ability to astral project.
This is a very real ability and practice is the only difference between those who rarely astral project or do so with difficulty and those who can astral project at will.
Just like yoga and meditation, astral projection has a very long history. People have called astral projection by many different names over the centuries and there are also many different techniques which can help you to astral project.
Lucid dreaming is one of the ways that you may astral project. You already know about lucid dreaming; this is the ability to become conscious of your dreams while you are dreaming and start controlling the course of your dream. You can start lucid dreaming by just telling yourself ‘I am dreaming’ while you are in the midst of a dream.
Doing this lets you take the reins in your dreams but it takes a while to master this, making it not the best way for beginners to astral project.
You have already astral projected, even if you are not specifically aware of it.
For example, if you have ever awakened from a dream remembering each and every detail, you were actually astral projecting! This has happened to everyone at some time or another, even if you haven’t heard of astral projecting.
The key to success in astral projection is to believe you can do it. Any doubts or fears you have will only hold you back and make it harder for you to astral project.
Learn some good meditation and relaxation techniques; these will make it easier for you to astral project. Meditation will get your mind and body ready for the experience of astral projection. Start practicing relaxation and meditation routines you like to get prepared.
If you are wondering where to begin when it comes to meditation, try sitting in a comfortable chair in a peaceful place. When you are relaxed, clear your mind, if stress or work pops into your head, push it out and focus on nothing.
Pay attention to your breathing, take slow deep breathes. Imagine all your troubles leaving your body when you breathe out. This will put you in a deeply relaxed state that will enable you to astral project.
Now is the point where you need to reach an altered state of consciousness. You need to focus not only on your breathing but the way you are breathing.
The breaths you take should come from deep down inside.
As your breathing slows down, focus more and more on relaxing your body.
Start with your toes and relax your body bit y bit, working your way up to your head. You can do this by either tensing and then releasing each part of your body as you go along. Alternately, visualize all of the stress and tension leaving from each part of your body as you do your deep breathing.
You’ll start to feel heavy as you become relaxed. After you have relaxed your entire body, you’ll be able to begin the next step towards astral projecting.
You may feel like sleeping at this time, you need to avoid this. Many recommend repeating a command such as’I can fly, I can fly.’ You can say anything you want, just try to come up with something that will keep you from slipping into sleep.
When the human mind is unoccupied, it will tend to wander; this will ruin the concentration you need to astral project. Just keep repeating your phrase to yourself and taking slow, deep breaths.
There are a few different ways to reach the necessary state of altered consciousness for astral projection. You can repeat your phrase until you get there, or you can use the ‘body of light’ method here, you envision a body made of light which you visualize yourself transforming into.
As you start to astral project, there are three signs which you can watch for to know that you are doing so successfully. The first is a sensation of motion, even though your physical body is perfectly still. The second is ‘seeing’ color and light, even though your eyes will be closed.
Finally, you will hear voices which will either tell you to stop or encourage you to continue. Once you hear these voices, you’ll know that you have begun to astral project.
